This is a festival that doesn’t exist yet, which makes it difficult to describe. The best way to understand it will be to experience it. Still, I’ll try to give you a glimpse of what we’re planning.
ISKARA was born out of many years of creating light installations, audiovisual events and exhibitions, and being immersed in rave culture. It is a new concept for bringing the old and the new together. For connecting seemingly separate worlds. For blending black and white. Day and night.
It is a three-day immersive festival of art, live music and free-form dance. Drawing on elements of the ECSTATIC DANCE movement, it combines movement with a distinctive approach to visuals, lighting and stage design rooted in rave culture. It is a place where you can let go, discover new ways of moving and enter a space shaped not only by music, but also by art, light and shared experience.
As the saying goes, “EARTH without ART is just EH.” Haha. We agree. That’s why the entire festival site will become a living work of art. Light installations, projections, lasers, stage design, decorations, fabrics, sculptures and artistic interventions will transform every corner. Art will do more than accompany the programme — it will shape the atmosphere and become an integral part of the festival experience.
We’re creating every space with the utmost care. Expect a dancefloor bathed in light and smoke, an indoor stage filled with clouds of countless flowers, or a hidden jungle somewhere deep inside the barn. Throughout the festival, you’ll be able to explore tucked-away corners, secret spaces, a tea house and art installations scattered across the site. How and when you discover them is entirely up to you. Stay curious. Explore. Seek things out. But don’t worry about missing anything — you’ll always find exactly what you’re meant to.
ISKARA is conceived as a single musical journey through different cultures and genres. Musicians from Africa will fill the festival with vibrant rhythms, drums, voices and the sounds of traditional instruments. Performances inspired by Latin American music will bring the pulsating energy of cumbia, salsa and Afro-Brazilian music. Ecstatic dance sets will take you on extended journeys, inviting you to let go of expectations and self-criticism and move freely and authentically.
The festival programme will also include dance workshops. Throughout the weekend, you’ll be able to join several sessions exploring different approaches to movement and dance. These workshops will offer space to learn, experiment, discover inspiration from different sources and connect with your body. Whether you’re an experienced dancer or simply curious about where movement might take you, ISKARA is for everyone who loves music, movement and dance, whatever their skill level.
The sacred fire will be the guardian of ISKARA. It will carry our wishes and prayers, hold our shared energy and unite us as one tribe through its flame. We’ll light it on Friday evening during the festival opening and honour it by dancing together to African drums and rhythms. It will burn throughout the festival, protecting us and giving us the energy we need. We’ll gather around it again on Sunday as the festival draws to a close. But don’t worry — the fire will still be burning.
Food has the power to bring people together. That’s why shared breakfasts, lunches and dinners will be an essential part of the experience. All meals are included in your ticket, so we can stay connected throughout the weekend and regularly gather around the same table. These shared moments will offer space to slow down, meet new people and deepen our sense of belonging. No other activities will take place during mealtimes.
This will also let you give yourself fully to the music and dance, without having to spend time preparing food or deciding what to eat.
Rest and Relaxation
Between dancing, performances and workshops, the wellness area will offer space to pause and recharge.
Set beside the pond, it will feature saunas, cold plunge pools and hot tubs. It will be a place to cool off on warm days, care for your body and replenish your energy throughout the festival. Massage therapists will also be available.
